This
is my team’s product design presentation to fulfill the project in product
design. My team made an innovative shoe brush in this project. This shoe brush
can be used to clean the shoe inside and outside, so we just can buy one
product to fulfill our multiple needs.
To make
a good innovative/ new product, you have to do systematic steps so that your
product will launch successfully in the market because it fulfill the customer needs. Here are the steps for you to
make a product:
- FOCUS GROUP DISCUSSION, define what is the product that offer from all of your member in the team and then use a balance scorecard to choose the best product concept based on the technical, innovation, and market.
- PRODUCT MISSION STATEMENT, write down your product mission that reflect the target and specification of your product. It will be your guide to continue the next step.
- IDENTIFYING CUSTOMER NEEDS, conduct an interview directly or indirectly by questionnaire and then summarized the result of the interview/ questionnaire as your customer voice.
- PRODUCT SPECIFICATION, after defining the customer needs, you have to analyze that with your ability to produce. Maybe some customers need many ridiculous things that impossible to make.
- CONCEPT GENERATION, make some possible combinations of your product concept based on the specification and use some literature review then compare with the competitor to make your product perform perfectly.
- CONCEPT SELECTION, choose your best product combination as your final product by the definite matrix.
- CONCEPT TESTING, make a questionnaire to the potential customer will they buy our product based on product performance. Sometimes the customer will give some entry to our final product.
